2Lt Charles Barry Gibbons, 2nd Battalion Royal Irish
Regiment, is buried in Plot II, Row A, Grave 6.
He was killed in action on 24th August 1914 during the operations to stem the
German advance in the Mons area of Belgium. He was just 22 years of age.
He is commemorated on the St Gregory's Church Roll of Honour.
His parents, Lt Col James Barry Gibbons and his mother, Mrs Aimee
Annie Gibbons, resided at "Mellington", London Road, Cheltenham and at "Ben
Rhydding", Charlton Kings.
The commemoration on his stone read, "God Keeps His Place in Eternal Life".
