Kathleen b. possibly 1904 Adopted daughter probably from Fanny's sister Isabella Kathleen Whitaker |
William worked in the Isle of Man as a Lead Miner and the immigrated to
Africa (some time between 1894 when he was married and 1901 where he does not
appear on the census) to the gold mines along with all of Fanny's siblings.
His brother John Martin Coates Cole practised medicine in the Isle of Man around
the same period.
According to Elizabeth Cole's
letter William,
Fanny and Kathleen went to New Zealand around 1916 to visit his brothers, we
have no record of where he went to after that. Family lore says that he was not
very impressed with the conditions in New Zealand.
