Jersey, Channel Islands John Martin Coates Cole

According to Mac Cole's family notes John Martin Coates Cole was in Jersey before he went to Venezuela. However it was thought that this was Jersey in Jamaica. We believe this incorrect. On the ships manifests it records

1904 Prudence returning to Belfast from Venezuela
1906 He husband is going to wife and family, St Helens, Island of Jersey, England (note is probably St Heliers)
1909 Dorothy was going to her father in Venezuela from Rocke Vue St Aubin Jersey (note: is probably Roche Vue, St Aubins St Brelade)
1912 Dorothy and her father going to Jersey
1914 Dorothy was going to her father in Venezuela from Jersey St Martins (note: probably La Maitrerie, St Martin, Jersey)
1916 Dorothy was going to her mother in Gorey Jersey Channel Islands from Venezuela after her father's death

From this we assume that Prudence Henrietta Coates Cole and her daughters were in Jersey, Channel Islands from 1906 to 1916

Dorothy spent some time in Venezuela looking after her father.

It is possible that John and Prudence had spent time in Jersey previously before they went to the Isle of Man but no records have been found as yet. Also on 1909 ships manifest it appears to say that Dorothy was leaving from Mrs C Cole at Rocke Vue St Aubin Jersey - probably Daisy Coates Cole

Helen Coates Cole's husband is Richard Goldie Crawford.
He did paintings in Jersey and exhibited at the Royal Academy, died 1941

Richard Goldie Crawford was born in London and entered the RA schools in 1893, he was still in London in 1898 but by 1907 was in residence in Jersey and died in Jersey in 1941
